Kid Stars We Loved – Where Are They Now?

1. Christina Ricci

This young actress made her name in beloved classics like the remake of The Addams Family and Casper. As a precocious child, Ricci made a name for herself as an incredibly talented young lady.

As the years passed, Ricci slowly became an actress who now stars in Hollywood movies like Black Snake Moan, Sleepy Hollow and Monster. Recently, Ricci has taken to the small screen – she starred in a short-lived series called Pan Am in 2011.

She also starred in a made-for-television movie highlighting the life of notorious murderer Lizzy Borden. Ricci has also done voice work for movies such as The Smurfs and The Hero of Color City.

2. Alexa Vega

This young star made her name in the Spy Kids movies. She spent her early years in children’s films but has since moved on to more adult roles. Vega says that she is also working toward “owning her sexuality” and becoming a true adult star. Vega appeared as herself on the television show Big Time Rush in 2013.

The next year, she returned to television as Hillary Cole on two episodes of The Tomorrow People. Her music career dates back to her Spy Kids days. She continued recording music for other pieces of work such as the Repo! The Genetic Opera and Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe.

3. Abigail Breslin

As the younger sister of Spencer Breslin, the young actor famous for his role opposite Bruce Willis in The Kid, Abigail landed a role in the movie Little Miss Sunshine. Abigail has always been a truly gifted actress and has most recently been seen in the movie The Call. The actress is currently filming and enjoying her time in the spot light.

Breslin’s recent works include thriller The Call, which received mixed reviews. She appeared in the film version of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, which suffered from mediocre box office performance. Breslin’s role along Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in August: Osage County, though, may be just the ticket to secure her spot on the celebrity A-list.

4. Nicholas Hoult

This actor starred opposite Hugh Grant in About a Boy and was as adorable as he could be. His charming demeanor and bright blue eyes have stood the test of time.

Hoult is currently dating Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence and has starred in such movies as The X-Men: First Class and Jack the Giant Killer. He also appeared in Warm Bodies, a spoof of vampire movies in general and the Twilight series in particular.

Hoult’s recent credits include his role as Jack in Jack the Giant Slayer and Hank McCoy in X-Men: Days of Future Past. He also provided the voices for Harry Potter and Captain America on Robot Chicken.

5. Haley Joel Osment

This young actor was most famous for his part opposite Bruce Willis as the young man that could see dead people. This is perhaps his most known role and illustrated how well Osment could truly act despite his young age.

Osment has done little in Hollywood since his famous role but says he is still open to a continuing movie career if the part arises. Osment appeared in the movie Secondhand Lions alongside his sister Emily. Although he is not noted for recent television or cinema work, avid gamers know his name – Osment voiced the character Sora in the Kingdom Hearts series.

6. Jonathan Lipnicki

After starring opposite both Tom Cruise and Rene Zellweger in Jerry Maguire, Lipnicki took a few years off work in favor of growing up like a normal child. However, he has since moved back into the spotlight and is eagerly pursuing roles in Hollywood productions.

He is perhaps most well-known for his role as George Little in the movie Stuart Little; however, he has been involved in other movie and television projects. Most recently, Lipnicki portrayed a character named Ryan in an episode of Family Tools. He is also the winner of two Young Artist Awards – one for his work in Stuart Little and another for his role in The Little Vampire.

7. Drew Barrymore

This child star has made leaps and bounds since growing to maturity.

Though she was known for her roles in Firestarter and E.T., Barrymore has since moved on to adult movie roles, has become engaged, and has become a mother now expecting her second child. In 1998, Barrymore starred opposite Adam Sandler in the film The Wedding Singer.

Years later, she again teamed up with Sandler in 50 First Dates, a film in which she plays a girl suffering from short-term memory loss as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Barrymore’s other notable films include Never Been Kissed, Ever After, Charlie’s Angels and He’s Just Not That Into You.

8. Corey Feldman

This child star was best known for his roles in films like the Goonies and The Lost Boys. Since these films however, Feldman has moved out of the spotlight to a certain extent. He still pursues roles in Hollywood films but has only had limited success after childhood.

Feldman resumed his role as Edgar Frog for two additional installments of The Lost Boys series: The Tribe in 2008 and The Thirst in 2010. He has also focused his energy on his music career. He founded the ska band Truth Movement, which has released four albums to date. Feldman dedicated a live hospital performance with the band to his late friend Michael Jackson.
